Revolting Women: "A triumph!"

This month Revolting Women Live performed in Cheltenham on the opening night of the Cheltenham Literary Festival. The live show is the result of a collaboration between Lit Live producer, actor and writer Sarah McNeill (Perth) and her sister, positive psychologist and author Dr Lucy Ryan (Cheltehnham, UK) who published the best-selling and award-winning book Revolting Women in 2024. It details the very real stories of middle-aged women - the "sandwich generation" - facing issues with family, work and menopause - and what they do about it.
Together the sisters turned these stories into a performance - and brought on board the extraordinary talents of composer and singer Louise Johnson (Cheltenham) who wrote three original and powerful songs for the show.
The response was overwhelming. The sell-out crowd laughed, cried, cheered and gave us a standing ovation! Women were thrilled to hear their own stories, their sisters', friends and mothers' stories brought so vividly to life.
We hope this production will go on, so women know they are not alone.
